How to convert an image

When in doubt, choose JPG. It opens in every app and is accepted by almost every website and form.
Private by design
Your images are converted inside your browser and never uploaded, which matters for ID documents, receipts and personal photos. It's quick too, because nothing has to travel to a server and back.

- Are my images uploaded anywhere?
- No. Images are converted inside your browser, on your own device, and never sent to our servers.
- How many images can I convert at once?
- Up to 50 at a time. Download them one by one, or all together as a ZIP file.
- Does converting lose quality?
- Converting to PNG keeps the picture exactly as it is. JPG and WebP are compressed formats: at Best quality the difference is very hard to see, and Smaller file trades a little detail for a lighter file.
- Is the photo's location and camera information kept?
- No. The new file is drawn from the picture itself, so hidden details in the original, such as the camera model and where a photo was taken, are left out.
- Can I convert iPhone HEIC photos?
- Not yet. When you pick a photo on an iPhone, it's usually handed over as a JPG anyway. On a computer, open the HEIC file and export or save it as a JPG first.
- What happens to animated GIFs and WebPs?
- Only the first frame is converted, as a still image.
